One Life Live It: Day 4: Your favourite movie and why

It's just two days ago I saw a movie, but I know it's not my favourite. I've seen so many movies and definitely very good ones. It's hard to decide which one is my favourite, or can I name more than just one?? :D Well, "The Holiday" (2006) and "Step up" (2006) are at least movies I'd give full grades to. These two are so different from each other, but I have to say that "The Holiday" has been my favourite film for years. So here's a description of the film and reasons why it's so great!

”The Holiday”

is a movie about love and understanding different types of love. It's a story about four persons; two women and two guys who have different problems in their lives. Iris (Kate Winslet) and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) are women who have bad luck in their love life. They don't know each other before swapping houses during Christmas holidays. Iris is from England and Amanda from Hollywood. They want some adventure and forget about the guys that hurt them.

After switching houses they meet nice persons, make friends and both of them meet a charming guy. This is the place when Graham (Jude Law) and Miles (Jack Black) enter to the story. And you can guess what happens next.

Well, I wouldn't mind telling more, I've actually written a two-page-long film review about it a half year ago (as an English school project) but I just remembered I would spoil too much and that would be sad for those who has not seen the film. So instead I'll write about why I love this movie.

Most of all I like the wise words about love Iris is telling in the beginning of the movie. It's like you learn a lot about love by just watching the film. I still remember when I saw the movie for the first time; it was my birthday party, I've invited a couple of friends to the movies and we watched this one. I love romantic movies and that's why it's no wonder I fell in love with this one.

I think it's nice it takes place both in England and in America. I have no idea how many times I've watched it, so I know the whole story. I can't forget about the things that happens in this movie, so I can't experience the suprises when I'm watching this film. That's a little sad... It's like it's too worn out and I can't stand watching it too often. But it's still one of my favourites! :)

The only drawback I can think of is that it's Christmas time in the film, which means it's not an ideal movie to watch when it's spring or summer.
